This group advises on a broad range of complex regulatory, governance and compliance matters and draws on the extensive experience of our Procurement, Corporate, Commercial Dispute Resolution, Employment, Environment and IP Technology & Commercial groups.
With an increasing volume of regulations being imposed on businesses, we aim to assist clients by taking preventative measures to ensure compliance and stop them falling foul of the relevant regulations. However, if a breach does occur we are also on hand to provide advice and support in order to minimise the consequences of non-compliance.

The Data Protection Compliance Team advises on all aspects of compliance with the Data Protection Act including: Notifications to the Information Commissioner; Contracts with 'data processors', such as payroll companies and pension trustee issues; Confidential waste management issues; RIPA issues; dealing with police requests; Website compliance issues etc. DPA and Electronic Communications Regulations Audit and risk assessment tools. The team has a proven track record in advising a wide range of clients on managing the legal, regulatory and operational risks in the area of information management.

The EU Environment Compliance Team assists clients with compliance with the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) and the EU Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS).

The Health & Safety Team: prevention in the workplace is key and we provide specialist guidance and training in areas such as the policies you need to have and their implementation. When it does go wrong our team are here to help you in defending claims, assisting you with investigations carried out by Regulatory bodies such as the Health and Safety Executive and advice in relation to prosecutions both against companies and employees.
