Our Projects Group has been involved in most of Scotland's key infrastructure and public-private partnership projects and operates throughout the UK.
We have acted in over 50 PPP projects with a total value of over £4bn. These projects have included several ground-breaking, innovative, and award-winning projects. We cover all sectors, including health, education, transport, housing, waste and waste water.
Our lawyers are drawn from all the specialist areas of law that are required for the successful delivery of, and ongoing advice on, complex and major projects, including project finance; construction and engineering; procurement; planning and environment; tax; property; competition and state aid; employment and pensions.
We regularly act for all industry players, including public sector, private sector, bidding consortia, contractors, banks and other funders. We combine cutting-edge market knowledge with a solutions-based, friendly approach which allows us to assist our clients to fulfil, and exceed, their objectives.
We advise on all public-private partnership projects. We were involved at the forefront of the UK market from its inception as the Private Finance Initiative and we continue to lead developments in this area, from competitive dialogue, to NPD Projects, to the Scottish Futures Trust (SFT).
Our advice does not stop at closed projects. We are increasingly involved in ongoing operational issues, such as variations, benchmarking, refinancing, equity transfers, sub-contract issues, consents, disputes and other matters as the individual projects turn into businesses.
In addition to our PFI/PPP expertise, we also advise on a whole range of other non-PFI projects, including infrastructure, transport, energy, outsourcing, and construction and engineering projects.
